Rebirth and renewal are a natural part of our lives as they transition from season to season.
No season exhibits a rebirth and renewal more than spring! Spring 2011 is no exception. In fact, more than ever before, this season’s fashion colours exhibit a new era of freedom that taps into the essence of nature’s true beauty.

Must haves for this spring are the Exotics! Rich spice colours like Paprika, Curry, and Cinnamon.
Showing really strong in spring fashions and accessories are the vibrational colours of the spectrum that relate to our chakras, not to mention your joyful neighborhood rainbow. Look for Reddish Fuchsias, Paprika, Curry, Dusty Green, Turquoise, Light Royal Blue, and Lavender. These brighter colours will make neutrals like Beige , Light silver, and Cinnamon come alive.
Complimentary colours come together harmoniously. For example, pair a warm colour like Curry with a cool colour like Lavender. You can even then throwing in a pop of Turquoise to mix things up a bit.
And remember to shop your own closet! The fall 2010 colours were so vibrant, many will easily transition into spring outfits!
Here is a sampling of gemstones that represent this seasons colours:
Coral, Carnelian, Yellow Jade, Emerald Green Jade, Blue Agate, Amethyst, Mother of Pearl, Sterling Sliver, Brown Mother of Pearl

I don’t think anybody loves shopping more than I do! What I don’t love is buyers’ remorse! You know that “what was I thinking” feeling when you first wear some purchases! Sometimes you end up buying the same article over and over, and sometimes a great deal on the price isn’t such great look on your body.
To keep shopping as the positive and enjoyable activity I know and want it to be, I have a few tips and guidelines to keep buyers’ remorse at bay and make each trip to the mall a worthwhile adventure!
First, go with a plan in mind, otherwise you may buy things you don’t need. Are you shopping for the new season or are you looking for something exceptional for a special occasion? This doesn’t mean you can’t buy anything beyond your list, but having a purpose for the trip will help you focus and really think about your making that purchase. And you can avoid having unworn clothes in your closet with the tags still attached!!
What You Should Think About when Shopping:
Keep and eye out for Necessities – those staples that are missing from your wardrobe
Don’t be afraid to buy a few Seasonal Pieces, or what I like to call “The refreshers”. They can give some outfits in your wardrobe a new lease on life.
Know what looks good on YOU! Chose pieces that accentuate your assets. Don’t buy clothing just because it’s trendy and compromise your image
Remember to look for the Colours that are complimentary to your complexion and hair colour
Don’t buy something just because it’s on sale. The Golden Rule here is – if you wouldn’t pay full price for it – then don’t buy it.
And the most IMPORTANT rule of shopping for you is TRY EVERYTHING ON! The clothes you wear should be both comfortable AND stylish. What looks good on the hanger doesn’t always look good on your body. Remember how to accentuate your figure and present the image of the best you! Remember, if a piece of clothing is accomplishing everything it should but doesn’t fit just right, you can take it to your favorite tailor to be made altered to perfection!
Fashionably Yours,
Lidia

Spring/Summer colours burst with exhilaration!
Ah Springtime! After a restless winter, the Spring/Summer 2010 colour pallet revives us with bold bright hues and neutrals that radiate warmth.
The hues are very much what we anticipated for spring and summer! The unexpected twist comes with new and fresh colour pairings! Think outside the box, and wear warm grey with bright red. Or pair two similar light tones like tan and yellow. One of my favorite combos is turquoise with royal blue. Be adventurous! After all, isn’t that what personal style is all about!

I have always loved fashion! And to this day I still live by the advice given to me by my Nonna when I was a just little girl – “Fai comi ti dice il cuore (Do what your heart tells you)” I think Nonna might have meant this in another context, but it’s still great fashion advice.
To better define my fashion philosophy I should start by sharing what fashion doesn’t represent in my world!
Fashion is not about following current trends or the latest fads. It’s not about looking like everyone else. It’s not about being uncomfortable. Clothes and accessories are our friends and they shouldn’t cause pain or make us stress fearing a “malfunction”. And it’s definitely not about expensive brands and labels, unless your initials are really “LV”. …keep reading

Closets come in all shapes and sizes but what you keep in your closet can make getting dressed a love story or an epic disaster.
But “Non ti preoccupato Don’t worry)” as my Nonna used to say! Creating a closet you love is easy if when you know how!
First of all Purge! Be ruthless and put sentimentality aside! Try on EVERYTHNG. Embrace the body you have right now and get rid of any pieces that don’t make you look your best. Don’t hang on to clothes that are too small. Get rid of anything that is outdated (yes even your favourite pair of thigh faded jeans), you don’t want to wear anything that will date you. For clothes that don’t quite fit right, but worth keeping, have them altered to fit you perfectly. Don’t keep clothes in hues that aren’t complementary to your colouring even if they are the “in” colour. Clothes that have survived the purge but have rips, tears or missing buttons should be repaired right away! And finally if you haven’t worn a piece of clothing in over a year, it’s time to say good-bye. Unless it’s a turn around piece (which we’ll get into at a later time). …keep reading
